stopover on a long journey
Excellent setting, very good value, very good meal and breakfast
Noisy central heating when it started.

Nice country Inn
Breakfast and Fish & Chips were excellent.
Cocktails overpriced and short on value. 11 pound margarita was about 4 ounces. When I first saw it I thought it was a mistake.

Perfect for a night on the way to the ferry
We were greeted very friendly and you could tell straight away that everyone who works there likes dogs. The room was just the right size for an overnight stay. It would have been a bit tight for several people. Coffee and tea as well as small cookies were available in the room. The bathroom was small but everything you needed was there. A small carpet would have been nice as the stone floor was already very, very cold.
Unfortunately the breakfast wasn't tasty at all. Not only was it cold, it also lacked flavor. All the more amazing because the dinner was an absolute taste explosion. And it would also be nice if you could do a little cleaning in the corners of the room. I found a lot of dust and hair from previous people there

Lovely inn. Pity about the receptionists
The owner/manager clearly takes enormous pride in everything they do. The inn was full of character, beautifully decorated with stunning little touches of flair in the rooms. The rooms were comfy and as far as the actual location and rooms go, it was an excellent place to stop over.
The staff. We arrived around 4pm and there was no welcome from the girl sitting behind the desk. She grunted, didn't know how to check us in or take payment. Made no conversation and pointed us in the vague direction of our rooms without explaining anything about dining or breakfast. Her colleague was sitting drinking a glass of wine and stepped up now and then to offer some advice to her but we felt so unwelcome. Seriously consider hiring new receptionists! If the staff had been courteous, welcoming and helpful I would have given this inn a 10 rating but because of them I can't.
